Aloha & Welcome to Ka Hale I o Kahala Halau, House of I, and our Non-Profit Organization "House of I Ohana"

"Hula" the art form of Hawaiian dance......

My name is Leimomi Maldonado, better known as Aunty Lei. My passion for the hula was instilled in me at a young age of 6 by my late Kumu Hula, Aunty Maiki Aiu Lake. With Aunty Maiki's passing, I had the opportunity to study and Uniki (graduate) as Kumu Hula with her cousin, Aunty Lani Kekauilani Kalama from Kailua. I have been fortunate to study with a young man, Kimo Alama Keaulana, whose knowledge is overwhelming. I continue to attend his hula workshops whenever I am able. Uncle John Keola Lake has always supported our halau in oli and dance and we are forever grateful to him for his continued support and aloha. My Mentor has been my brother Milton I. He has been there for my every turn, stumble and fall. To these wonderful people I am forever grateful.

Welcome to our hula ohana ...........
